For the most part, I am drawn to painting women in their own environment. It is interesting to me to see how women relate to the living space they have created for themselves, where and how they sit, eat, turn, reach, read. Also, I simply love to place the organic figure within the geometry of a room containing furniture because of the contrast of forms which are created. I do try to think beyond portraiture, beyond painting the moment, to capture a bit of the universal in my figurative work.
