I am an oil painter, primary using birch plywood as my surface.

Influenced by lavish painters such as John Singer Sargent and Wayne Thiebaud,  I enjoy the physical quality of thick paint. I am equally influenced by painters that incorporate pattern in their work such as Gustav Klimt and William Utermohlen.  Creating lush passes of flat planes and pattern in my landscape and figure paintings has been the impetus behind recent work.
