In this series, the painted figures express themselves with their arms in a way that obviously goes beyond the everyday social norm in order to evoke unnameable emotions from the viewer. Though the expressed emotions are not nameable or communicated on a level that involves words or labels, they suggest a visual understanding that has its own vocabulary. This visual vocabulary is meant to connect with the viewer on a more intimate level. The figures are painted with rich oil paint on board.
